Eredivisie Almere (NED)

Double race day! Double fun!

2nd race of the season, an individual super sprint and another team race. Today I was racing for my dutch team and last year's dutch champion, SQUADRA.

Today was promising to be a tough one! The raceday would consist of an individual super sprint race (400 swim - 6K bike - 1.5K run)and a team time trial race. The individual sprint was super short but super hard! I had a solid race and clocked the 3th fastest time. Some 'bike parking space issues' in transition cost me valuable time and made me miss the top spots on the podium, but no worries because my fitness was excellent!

In the afternoon there still was a team race format to be done. A sprint distance event in teams of 5 athletes. Starting order was the sum of all individual times of the team's athletes in the super sprint earlier that day. SQUADRA was fastest, so we started in pole-position! The other teams would be chasing us.
Our guys did a fine job but with everyone racing on the edge, we made some errors and had to let 1 team overtake us.

This resulted in a very satisfying 2nd place at the end! A strong result to start the dutch national series and once again a good fitness test for myself! Bring on the next race!
